THE STORY OF THE TRANSFORMATIONAL ENERGY OF MUSIC....

A young boy wants a timeworn trumpet from an irascible Antique Shop owner. This new Irish short film explores the transformational power of music. It features newcomer Oisín Murphy in his first film role with support from distinguished actors Lalor Roddy and Denise Quinn.

Renowned Belfast actor, Lalor has appeared in many distinguished plays including Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Toward the Somme, Abbey Theatre, Lay Me Down Softly Peacock Theatre, Measure for Measure, RSC; American Buffalo, The Weir, (2004 Irish Times Theatre Award Nominee) at the Lyric Theatre, Belfast. Notable film and TV roles include Game of Thrones, Michael Inside, Rebellion, Grabbers, Cherrybomb, Float like a Butterfly, Hunger and The Devil’s Doorway.

Denise Quinn

Mrs Lopsided

Denise has a long career in Theatre as actor and director. Recent roles include the lead in Tender Mercies and Yes both by Colette Cullen; As writer and actor, Denise created Bid in Bardot Bites (Irish and Canadian Tour), Anita in The Bluebell Stop and Lucy in Lucy Bastible; Denise portrayed the title role in Baglady (Frank McGuinness) for Red Kettle and Annie Wilkes in the stage version of Stephen King's Misery (Irish National Tour) among others.

Oisin Murphy

Finn

The Silver Lining is Oisín’s début film appearance. Oisín is an enthusiastic member of the Causeway Drama group based in Rua Red Arts Centre Tallaght. Oisín has appeared in Tallaght Civic Theatre, Rua Red Arts, School productions, The Olympia and The O’Reilly Theatre, in a variety of performances and Christmas Pantomimes including Jack and The Beanstalk and The Wizard of Oz.

Denis McArdle

Writer And Director

With interests including music and folklore, Denis graduated from the National Film School, IADT, Dublin with his acclaimed short film Beyond Reach which received an Irish cinema release. Previous work for RTÉ includes Poochers, The Nook and Bright Vision. Denis was awarded Best Irish TV Commercial at the Kinsale Advertising Festival. Screen Ireland supported two short films: Burning the Bed received a UK and Irish cinema release. Barry’s Bespoke Bakery won the spirit of GAZE, Dublin and was nominated for the renowned Iris Prize in Cardiff. It was screened at over seventy film festivals worldwide. Denis is an accomplished baritone singer and he aims to provide the soundtrack to projects.

Gráinne is an experienced film and television editor for over twenty years, having worked across many genres including drama, comedy, documentary and feature films in Ireland. IMDb link here

Neil McCann

Executive Producer

Barrister at Law, Neil covers a ‘Broad Church’ as a skilled communicator. He is a Human Rights advocate, journalist and environmentalist. With a long career in local politics, Neil ran as Independent MEP candidate for Northern Ireland in 2019. He produced several private film diaries on environmental campaigning and completed the Screen Skills Ireland course in documentary filmmaking. Neil is Associate Producer on Whaledreamers directed by Kim Kindersely and produced by Julian Lennon. Neil produced the short film on Irish Dog Rescue, Give that Dog a Home.

Ciaran Tanham

Ciarán has been working in the film and television industry for the past thirty-five years. He has been Cinematographer / Director of Photography on many cinema features and TV Drama Productions. He has worked With RTÉ, TG4, BBC, ITV, Hallmark USA - AMC Studios, HBO USA, ZDF, TF1, and PBS. Highlights include Bloom, Love/Hate, Red Rock, Controra - House of Shadows, Northanger Abbey, Coast, Anytime Now, Whistleblower. Ciarán has been nominated five times for the Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTA) as Cinematographer.
